About
Lux Nova Creative

Hi, I'm Jillian
I've spent decades working in wine and hospitality, from sommelier and management roles at Michelin-starred restaurants to wine retail and distribution, to leading marketing, tasting rooms, and events for some of Oregon's most acclaimed wineries. Along the way, I earned advanced wine certifications (WSET Level 3, Italian Wine Specialist), learned to run a tasting room, and developed expertise in telling brand stories that actually connect with people.
Before I started Lux Nova Creative, I spent six years as Director of Marketing & Events at a renowned Oregon winery, where I managed everything from harvest campaigns to wine club communications to national brand representation. I was also the brand's chief photographer and videographer because I believe that authentic visual storytelling is everything in this industry. And I didn't just market events, I conceptualized and executed them, from intimate winemaker dinners to a 500+ guest river cruise brand anniversary yacht rock party. That hands-on experience gives me unique insight into what makes hospitality events successful and how to market them effectively.
Here's what that means for you: I'm not a generalist marketer who Googled "how to market wine." I understand the rhythm of harvest, the nuances of AVAs, the pain of shipping compliance, and what creates real wine club loyalty and keeps members engaged year after year. I've written tasting notes and designed tech sheets, submitted wines to competitions, hosted critics, and poured wine for countless guests. This isn't just marketing to me. It's an industry I love and know inside out.
With a background in professional photography and videography, when I say I create content for you, I mean I really create it. I'm behind the camera, setting up shots, editing photos, writing captions, and making sure everything looks cohesive and professional.
Why I started Lux Nova Creative:
After seeing the disconnect between what small-to-medium-sized wineries need and what many agencies deliver, I realized there was a gap in the market. Small-to medium-sized brands need someone who can deliver excellent work without the agency overhead. They need someone who will actually show up at their vineyard with a camera, taste their wines, understand their story, and create marketing that reflects who they really are.
That's what I do. And I do it all myself, which means you get consistent quality, authentic content, and direct communication without playing telephone through account managers.

I live in Salem, Oregon, and primarily work with brands in the Willamette Valley. When I'm not creating content or building marketing strategies, you can find me cooking the latest Bon Appétit recipes, training Muay Thai, or exploring Oregon with my husband, Aaron, my daughter, Ara, and our one-eared Frenchie, Gideon.
